CREATIVE FIELD NOTES

Write an ad creative brief you can actually use

Turn a product, audience, and offer into a practical one-page creative brief.

Start with one audience and one action

Name the person you are trying to reach, the situation they are in, and the action you want them to take. “People shopping for a compact desk lamp who want to see the size before buying” is more useful than “everyone who likes home products.” Pick a single next step such as viewing a product page, reading a menu, or comparing available sizes.

Separate facts from creative choices

List the product facts you can substantiate: dimensions, included items, material, current price, and delivery conditions. Keep these separate from decisions about color, framing, or tone. This gives you a reliable source for the headline and stops an attractive concept from becoming an unsupported product claim.

Give the draft a clear acceptance check

Specify the placement, aspect ratio, headline, supporting detail, call to action, and required product image. Before export, check that the product is recognizable, the words remain legible at phone size, and the offer matches the destination page. A brief is finished when another person can make and review the creative without guessing.
