CREATIVE FIELD NOTES

Choose an aspect ratio before you design

Understand the practical differences between square, portrait, and landscape creatives.

Use the placement as the starting point

A square canvas is a flexible working format, a portrait canvas gives a vertical composition more space, and a landscape canvas favors a wider scene. These are design choices, not a promise that one file meets every platform requirement. Check the current requirements of the intended advertising placement before publishing.

Adapt the layout, not just the crop

Moving from landscape to portrait can change the relationship between image and text. Recheck the headline width, product scale, and space around the call to action. If an element becomes cramped, shorten the copy or select another template instead of forcing the previous arrangement into the new shape.

Keep a separate export for each use

Name files with the product, message, and format so they are easy to find later. Keep the original product photo separately from exported creatives. When a placement changes, return to the source and create a new version instead of repeatedly resizing a compressed export.
